Medical Records Coordinator

Maintain confidentiality of patient records and communications in and outside facility Filing of any archived or active paper charts Ascertaining the chart documentation is properly signed by provider of services Electronically process documents received through the fax press by indexing the patient's chart number and correct provider Scanning in paper documentation and indexing to correct patient and provider Transfer of charts to inactive status and setup of new patient charts Maintaining accuracy of charts Printing daily forms and schedules Marking of daily forms to distinguish companies and high balances due from patients Copying medical records for insurance companies, attorneys and other legal entities Copying medical records for transfer to other physicians or patients Answering telephone calls from pharmacies and sending provider a patient message with pharmacy request Monitoring of fax machine for incoming documents Pick up of documentation and materials from St.
Francis Hospital Faxing of medical records Updating of patient information in computer system as directed by Department Manager All other duties as delegated by management.
Performance Requirement:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of business office procedures.
Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to process patient information.
Skill in operating a computer, copier and fax.
Ability to speak clear and concisely.
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction.
Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetical or numerical order.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.
